Farm Renovation & Greenhouse Retrofit: Harborside Farms
A core component of the project involved restoring and upgrading the farm’s greenhouse infrastructure to support commercial cannabis cultivation. This work included:
- Renovation and remediation of an inactive agricultural property
- Retrofit of four acres of existing greenhouse infrastructure for cannabis production
- Infrastructure upgrades to support environmental control, irrigation, and lighting systems

Infrastructure & Power Upgrades
To support the energy demands of year-round cannabis cultivation, Catalyst BC also helped coordinate major electrical infrastructure improvements across the property. This included:
- Management of a 4,000-amp, three-phase power upgrade
- Coordination with contractors and utility providers to support the farm’s increased electrical demand
- Infrastructure planning for cultivation lighting, environmental systems, and processing operations
These upgrades were critical to enabling reliable year-round cultivation.
Venlo Greenhouse Development
In addition to renovating existing greenhouse infrastructure, Catalyst BC also supported the development of a new one-acre Venlo glass greenhouse designed for high-performance cultivation. Our role included:
- Construction management support during the buildout of the new greenhouse
- Equipment selection for cultivation infrastructure and environmental systems
- Operational planning to integrate the new greenhouse into the farm’s overall production strategy
This new greenhouse became a key component of the farm’s production capacity.
Operational Launch & Fractional Leadership
Beyond infrastructure development, Catalyst BC provided hands-on operational leadership during the launch of the farm’s cultivation program.
This included fractional leadership roles across several operational functions:
- Fractional Director of Operations support
- Fractional Wholesale Manager support
- Fractional Inventory and Compliance Manager support
Our team helped build the operational structure necessary to move the facility from construction into licensed production.
SOP Development, Training & Operational Systems
Catalyst BC also developed the operational frameworks required to run a regulated cannabis cultivation facility. This included:
- Development of cultivation and post-harvest SOPs
- Staff training and operational onboarding for cultivation teams
- Inventory tracking and compliance system implementation
- Post-harvest workflow development to support trimming, drying, and product preparation

End Result
Through the renovation of aging infrastructure, construction of new production assets, and development of operational systems, Harborside Farms successfully transitioned from an inactive agricultural property to a fully licensed and operational cannabis cultivation and post-harvest facility. Catalyst BC’s involvement spanned from early planning and infrastructure development through active cultivation operations, helping establish the foundation for one of the largest cannabis cultivation properties in California at the time.
