Catalyst BC served as a strategic operations partner to Bostica, providing multi-year advisory support across cultivation systems, environmental infrastructure, and operational performance. Our engagement focused on bridging the gap between facility construction and high-performance cultivation by supporting equipment selection, validating mechanical systems, and implementing operational frameworks required for consistent production. Rather than functioning as the project’s architect or engineer of record, Catalyst BC’s role centered on operational readiness, cultivation system optimization, and long-term performance oversight.

Equipment Selection & Infrastructure Advisory

During early project development, Catalyst BC supported Bostica in evaluating and selecting key cultivation infrastructure systems, with a focus on environmental control and fertigation platforms capable of supporting a high-intensity indoor cultivation model. Key areas of our focus included:

• Environmental control system evaluation and equipment selection guidance
• Fertigation system design input and irrigation strategy development
• Cultivation equipment selection including benches, lighting, and airflow strategy
• Operational layout feedback to support workflow efficiency and sanitation protocols

These actions were taken to ensure the installed systems aligned with aggressive production targets while remaining manageable for long-term operations.

Mechanical Systems Validation & Optimization

Following installation, Catalyst BC provided validation and operational support for critical facility systems, particularly HVACD and fertigation infrastructure. This work included:

• Mechanical systems validation and operational troubleshooting
• Environmental performance monitoring and climate strategy refinement
• Irrigation system validation including sanitation protocols and delivery consistency
• Identification and mitigation of operational bottlenecks affecting plant performance

Our role focused on ensuring the installed infrastructure performed reliably under real cultivation loads.

Start-Up Support & Operational Framework Development

Catalyst BC supported the facility through its operational ramp-up by developing the internal frameworks required for a commercial cultivation operation. This included:

• Development of cultivation work instructions and operational SOPs
• Creation of forms, templates, and data tracking tools for production management
• Post-harvest workflow advisory including drying, trimming, and processing coordination
• Compliance-aware operational procedures to support regulatory reporting and inventory tracking

These systems established the operational foundation for scalable production.

Fractional Director of Operations

Catalyst BC provided fractional executive operational support during the early phases of cultivation operations. Responsibilities included:

• Operational leadership and strategic oversight of cultivation and post-harvest performance
• Remote monitoring and performance analysis across environmental and production KPIs
• Continuous operational improvement through Lean cultivation methodologies
• Support in developing internal management capacity within the Bostica team

This model allowed Bostica to benefit from senior operational expertise without the burden of maintaining a full-time executive position during early scaling.

Cultivation Training & Crop Steering Development

Catalyst BC delivered hands-on training and advisory support to implement advanced irrigation and crop steering strategies designed to maximize yield and consistency. Training and support included:

• Advanced irrigation strategy and crop steering methodologies
• Environmental setpoint strategy refinement
• Plant health monitoring and performance diagnostics
• Yield optimization strategies based on canopy management and irrigation control

These systems enabled the team to transition from basic cultivation practices toward data-driven crop management.

Genetics Development & Nursery Stabilization

Recognizing that genetic performance ultimately defines production potential, Catalyst BC also supported the development of Bostica’s nursery and genetics program. This work included:

• Nursery operational design and mother plant management systems
• Genetic selection and performance benchmarking
• Stabilization of clone production workflows

This helped create a more reliable propagation pipeline and supported long-term yield improvements.

HR, Hiring & Team Development Support

Catalyst BC also supported Bostica in building the operational team required to run a complex indoor cultivation facility. Support included:

These efforts helped ensure the facility was supported by a capable and scalable operations team.
