Curity Pharma Company Profile
Curity Pharma S.A. is a Greece-based pharmaceutical company specializing in medical cannabis, with headquarters in Marousi, Athens. Incorporated in 2019, the company was established to develop a vertically integrated medical cannabis platform that meets stringent European pharmaceutical standards. Curity Pharma operates at the intersection of cannabis cultivation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and international medical distribution.
Mission & Positioning
Curity Pharma positions itself as a high-quality, EU-focused medical cannabis producer committed to pharmaceutical-grade standards and patient access. Its stated mission is to become one of Europe’s leading producers and distributors of medical cannabis products. The company emphasizes scientific rigor, regulatory compliance, and affordability, leveraging Greece’s climate and infrastructure to optimize production while maintaining consistent quality.
Operations & Facility
Curity Pharma operates EU-GMP compliant cultivation and processing infrastructure in Greece, anchored by its flagship campus in the Larissa Industrial Park near Makrychori. The 67,000-square-meter site includes a 5,000-square-meter hybrid greenhouse for cannabis cultivation and a 1,800-square-meter GMP-certified processing laboratory. In March 2025, the company received its official operating license for the Larissa facility, marking a key milestone toward full-scale production. The vertically integrated facility is designed to support cultivation, extraction, formulation, and packaging under strict pharmaceutical controls.
Products & Market
Curity Pharma produces, or plans to produce, a comprehensive portfolio of medical cannabis products, including dried flower, extracts, oils, vaporization products, and capsules. All products are developed in compliance with EU-GMP standards to support distribution across European medical markets. The company targets physicians, pharmacies, and healthcare systems seeking reliable, pharmaceutical-grade cannabis therapies. By combining R&D-driven formulation with cost-efficient production, Curity Pharma aims to expand patient access to affordable medical cannabis treatments throughout Europe.
International Technical Advisory: Medical Cannabis Infrastructure: Curity Pharma
Catalyst BC served as a cannabis technical advisory partner for Curity Pharma during the development of its EU-GMP targeted medical cannabis cultivation and manufacturing facility in Makrychori, Greece.
Our engagement focused on bridging the gap between traditional architectural and engineering design and the specialized requirements of pharmaceutical-grade cannabis production within a controlled environment agriculture (CEA) framework. Catalyst BC provided cultivation infrastructure advisory, environmental strategy development, and technical review throughout the project’s design phase to help ensure the facility could support consistent, high-quality medical production aligned with EU-GMP standards.
Cultivation Facility Strategy & Environmental Design
Catalyst BC supported the development of the facility’s cultivation strategy by advising on environmental control concepts, production layout, and cultivation system integration. Key areas of support included:
- Environmental setpoint strategy development for cultivation rooms and propagation areas
- Vapor pressure deficit (VPD) and lighting strategy guidance to support plant performance and consistency
- Cultivation room zoning concepts to maintain biosecurity and environmental stability
- Layout and workflow advisory to support efficient movement of plants, materials, and personnel
These inputs helped align the facility’s architectural design with the operational realities of commercial cannabis cultivation.
AEC Coordination & Design Review
Working alongside the project’s architecture and engineering teams, Catalyst BC provided technical reviews to ensure cultivation infrastructure requirements were properly integrated into the building design. This included:
- Design review of cultivation room layouts and environmental control strategies
- Constructability feedback related to airflow, environmental zoning, and cultivation infrastructure integration
- Review of mechanical system concepts to support stable climate control within cultivation areas
- Advisory support to help translate cultivation requirements into practical engineering solutions
This collaboration helped ensure the facility design accounted for the unique environmental demands of indoor cannabis production.
Equipment Strategy & Infrastructure Advisory
Catalyst BC also provided guidance on the selection and integration of key cultivation infrastructure systems. Areas of advisory included:
- Evaluation of environmental control systems suitable for pharmaceutical-grade cultivation
- Fertigation system strategy and irrigation infrastructure planning
- Lighting strategy aligned with crop performance goals and facility energy considerations
- Utility demand forecasting to ensure sufficient electrical and water infrastructure for cultivation operations
Our approach emphasized vendor-neutral technical evaluation to help the client select systems based on performance, reliability, and long-term operational efficiency.
